Life can be tough, and some people grow up in homes that don’t teach them how to live in the right way. Maybe their parents were too busy, hurt, or didn’t know how to guide them. This kind of childhood can leave a person feeling like they’re not good enough, not smart, or not able to succeed.
For some, these feelings lead them to make bad choices. Scamming others for money might seem like the only way to survive. But this kind of life is not what God wants for anyone. It is possible to leave this life behind and find hope, purpose, and peace.
A Hard Beginning
Some people grow up feeling unloved or ignored. They might think, “I can never do anything right,” or “I’m not good enough.” Without someone to guide them, they feel lost and confused about how to live.
As they grow older, they may look at the world and think it’s unfair. They see others with more money, more success, and more happiness, and it makes them feel angry or hopeless. Instead of working hard or asking for help, they start to believe, “The only way to get what I need is to take it.”
“I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.”
This verse encourages us to remember that God created each person with care and purpose. Even when life feels difficult, we are wonderfully made, and His plans for us are good.
Why Scamming Happens
Scamming might seem like an easy way out. It could start small—telling a lie to get money or pretending to be someone else online. Over time, it grows into a habit. But a life of scamming isn’t a happy one.
People who scam often feel empty inside. They may get money, but it doesn’t bring them peace. They might live in fear of being caught or losing what they’ve stolen. They also find it hard to have real friendships because their life is built on lies.
Jesus said in John 10:10, “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” A life of scamming may seem like it offers quick rewards, but it actually destroys peace and joy.
Changing the Path
Changing a life of scamming starts with one step: being honest with yourself. It means admitting, “What I’m doing is wrong, and it’s hurting me and others.” This can be hard, but the Bible says in 1 John 1:9, “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.”
After admitting the truth, the next step is finding a new way to live. This might mean learning new skills, getting a job, or even asking others for help. Honest work may feel hard at first, but it leads to a life of peace and blessings.
Trusting God to Help
For someone who has been scamming, believing in a better future can feel impossible. They might think, “I can’t do anything else,” or “I’ll never be good enough.” But these are lies.
The Bible teaches us that God gives strength to those who trust Him. Philippians 4:13 says, “I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.” With God’s help, anyone can learn, grow, and build a better life.
It’s also important to pray and ask God for guidance. Talk to Him about your struggles, and He will listen. The Bible says in Psalm 34:17, “The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears them; he delivers them from all their troubles.”
Forgiveness and Healing
Forgiveness is a big part of breaking free from a life of scamming. First, it’s important to ask God for forgiveness. He is ready to forgive anyone who truly wants to change.
It’s also important to forgive yourself. You can’t move forward if you keep holding on to guilt and shame. The Bible says in Isaiah 43:18-19, “Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing!”
Lastly, forgive others who may have hurt you. Holding onto anger only keeps you stuck. Forgiving them doesn’t mean what they did was okay—it means you are letting go so you can heal.
A Better Future
An honest life may not be easy, but it is worth it. When you live honestly, you don’t have to live in fear or guilt. You can build real friendships, work hard, and feel proud of what you’ve achieved.
More importantly, an honest life honors God. He created you for a purpose, and He wants you to live a life filled with love, kindness, and peace. In Ephesians 2:10, the Bible says, “For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”
A Final Word
If you are someone who scams others, it’s not too late to change. God loves you and has a better plan for your life. You don’t have to stay stuck in a cycle of lies and fear.
Take a step today. Pray and ask God to help you. Be honest about your mistakes and ask for forgiveness. Then start making changes, even if they are small.
Remember, you are not alone. God is with you, and He will guide you every step of the way. Life can be hard, but with God’s help, you can live a life that is honest, peaceful, and full of joy. As it says in 2 Corinthians 5:17, “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!”
You have the power to change, and God is ready to help you start a new, better chapter in your life.
