Stop Living to Impress – Start Living in Truth

I've been in the financial world for over 20 years. Every day, I look at numbers, accounts, and real financial data. I’ve seen what people really have—not what they pretend to have. And the truth is shocking.

Today, many people are drowning in debt. They borrow money just to buy things they don't need. Why? So they can impress friends who don’t even like them. They drive fancy cars they can’t afford. They wear expensive clothes and post pictures to look rich. But behind the scenes, their bank accounts are empty. In fact, some are so broke they can’t even spell “poor.”

This is not success. This is slavery.

The Bible is clear about this:
“The rich rules over the poor, and the borrower is slave to the lender.” – Proverbs 22:7

Debt is not freedom. When you owe money, you are not in control. The credit card company is. The bank is. You work hard every day, not for yourself, but to pay someone else back. That’s not living – that’s surviving.

I wrote an eBook with a message that may surprise some people: Living paycheck to paycheck is now a luxury. But the truth is, even that is not true freedom. Many people don’t even have a paycheck. Or if they do, it disappears the moment it comes in. Rent, bills, car payments, credit cards – it’s all gone.

We’ve been fooled. Social media makes it easy to compare our lives with others. But what you see online is not real life. It’s a highlight reel. Most of the people flashing wealth are just good at spending, not saving. They are broke with style.

It doesn’t have to be this way.

The Bible teaches us to live wisely and humbly.
“Better is a little with the fear of the Lord than great treasure and trouble with it.” – Proverbs 15:16
“Whoever gathers money little by little makes it grow.” – Proverbs 13:11

True wealth is not about how you look. It’s about peace of mind. It’s about sleeping at night without stress. It’s about being free—not trapped by debt. God wants us to be good stewards of what we have, not to waste it trying to impress others.

Let’s break the cycle. Let’s stop living just to show off. Let’s teach our kids the value of saving, giving, and living within our means. You don’t need to look rich. You need to be wise.

If you are deep in debt, it’s not too late. Start small. Cut back. Budget. Ask God for wisdom.
“If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all generously.” – James 1:5

Stop pretending. Start planning. Stop impressing. Start investing in your future.

Freedom starts with truth. And the truth will set you free. The ebook is now available in Amazon.
