After a while, I decided to stop watching the news. It wasn’t bringing me any closer to the truth. It wasn’t helping my heart or my mind. I figured, if something truly important happens—especially something as big as Jesus coming back—I will know. The Bible says that when Jesus returns, it will be so clear that no one will miss it. In Matthew 24:31, Jesus said, “And He will send His angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather His elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other.” That means no one will have to guess or watch the news to know.
I’ve also realized something else: nothing in this world is really new. Everything repeats. People make the same mistakes over and over again. The book of Ecclesiastes 1:9 says, “What has been will be again, what has been done will be done again; there is nothing new under the sun.” That verse always reminds me that the problems of this world are temporary. They are not the final story.
Because of this, I’ve chosen to live my life differently. I no longer want to store up “treasures” on earth—things that don’t last. Jesus told us in Matthew 6:19-20, “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal.” This means focusing on God, His Word, and loving others.
So now, instead of filling my mind with the constant noise of the world, I choose peace. I spend more time praying, reading the Bible, and trusting God. When I do that, I feel calmer and less afraid. The world may be full of negativity, but God offers peace to those who follow Him.
If you are sick and tired of what’s going on in the world, you’re not alone. Turn off the noise. Trust God. Live your life according to His Word. He promises to give peace that the world cannot give. In John 14:27, Jesus says, “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.”
With God, you can live in peace even in a troubled world.
