Christmas Is About Jesus—Not Trends, Not Politics, Not “Woke” Ideas

Christmas is the celebration of one thing only: the birth of Jesus Christ. That is the foundation of this holiday. It is not a trend, not a political statement, and not something that needs to be rewritten to fit modern culture. Christmas is Christian. Period.

Today, many people try to reshape Christmas into something else. They remove Jesus. They hide the nativity story. They replace “Merry Christmas” with neutral words. They call it “inclusive,” or “modern,” or “woke.” But let’s be honest—when you remove Jesus, you no longer have Christmas. You only have a holiday with no heart and no truth.

America has always been a place where people can bring their own traditions. That freedom is part of our strength. But freedom does not mean erasing the beliefs that built this nation. Christianity has shaped American values for hundreds of years. Christmas is part of that identity. It has always been centered on Jesus, worship, faith, and the message of salvation.

Yet today, many Christians feel like they are being pushed aside in their own country. Stores avoid Christian language. Public places hide Christian decorations. People act offended by the name of Jesus. And somehow Christians are expected to stay quiet, smile, and pretend nothing is happening.

No. We do not have to stay quiet.

We do not have to apologize for celebrating Jesus.

We do not have to water down our faith to make other people comfortable.

Honoring Christmas as a Christian holiday is not disrespectful. It is truthful. It is historical. It is biblical. Christmas exists because Jesus was born. Without Him, there is no holiday at all.

People who live in America—whether born here or not—should understand the importance of Christmas in this nation. They don’t have to become Christians, but they should respect the Christian foundation of this holiday. Respect is a two-way street. Christians have been respectful of other traditions for generations. It is not too much to expect the same in return.

A “woke Christmas” removes Jesus and replaces Him with shallow messages that change every year. But Christians are not called to follow the culture. We are called to follow Christ. Jesus does not change. The Bible does not change. And the meaning of Christmas does not change.

This season, stand firm. Say “Merry Christmas.” Display the nativity. Celebrate openly and boldly. Let the world know that Christmas is not up for rebranding. It is not up for debate. It is a holy day that belongs to Jesus Christ alone.
