When I started this blog in 2010, I had no idea what I was doing. All I knew was that I wanted to start something. I didn’t have a clear plan or goal, but there was a burning desire inside me to share my thoughts and experiences. Have you ever felt tired of being tired? I’m talking about the exhaustion that comes from working in the rat race of corporate America. I felt it deeply—the constant grind, the feeling of being a cog in a machine, and the question that kept echoing in my heart: "Is this all there is to life?"
That’s when I decided to start my blog. It became my space to express myself, to share my struggles, victories, and lessons. But more importantly, it became a space where I could reflect on my faith and how it shaped my journey.
I don’t know what I would do without God in my life. He has been my anchor through life’s chaos. I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve prayed to Him, seeking guidance, strength, and peace. If you’re feeling lost or overwhelmed, I want to encourage you to turn to God. He is always there, ready to listen and help you find your purpose.
The Turning Point
For years, I worked hard, chasing promotions, meeting deadlines, and trying to climb the corporate ladder. But no matter how much I achieved, I always felt like something was missing. The turning point came when I realized that true fulfillment doesn’t come from a paycheck or a title; it comes from knowing your purpose.
Jeremiah 29:11 says, "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." This verse reminded me that God has a unique plan for each of us. I started praying, asking God to reveal His purpose for my life. Slowly, I began to see that my purpose wasn’t tied to a corporate job. It was tied to sharing my faith and encouraging others.
Why Faith Matters
Faith is the foundation of everything I do. Without it, I wouldn’t have had the courage to step out of my comfort zone and start this blog. Hebrews 11:1 defines faith as "confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see." When I started blogging, I couldn’t see where it would lead. But I trusted that God would guide me, and He did.
Life is full of challenges, but faith gives us the strength to face them. Psalm 46:1 says, "God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble." When I felt overwhelmed by doubt or fear, I reminded myself of this truth. God was always with me, giving me the courage to keep going.
Finding Your Purpose
If you want to change your life for the better, start by giving your life to God. Ask Him what your purpose is. Why did He create you? What gifts and talents has He given you to serve others?
Proverbs 3:5-6 offers a powerful reminder: "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight." Trusting God means letting go of our own plans and being open to His direction. It’s not always easy, but it’s worth it.
I’ve learned that our purpose is often tied to our passions. For me, it was writing and helping others grow in their faith. For you, it might be something different. The key is to seek God’s guidance and be willing to step out in faith.
Overcoming Challenges
Starting something new can be intimidating. When I began this blog, I faced a lot of self-doubt. Who was I to share my thoughts? What if no one read my posts? But I realized that success isn’t about numbers or recognition; it’s about obedience to God.
Isaiah 41:10 says, "So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand." This verse gave me the confidence to keep writing, even when I felt uncertain.
Another challenge was staying consistent. Life gets busy, and it’s easy to put off writing or praying. But I’ve learned that consistency is key. Galatians 6:9 reminds us, "Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up." This verse encouraged me to stay committed, knowing that my efforts would bear fruit in God’s timing.
Sharing Your Faith
One of the most rewarding parts of blogging is being able to share my faith with others. It’s not always easy to talk about God in a world that often dismisses Him. But I’ve found that when we speak from the heart, people listen.
Matthew 5:16 says, "In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven." Through my blog, I hope to be a light, pointing others to God’s love and grace.
Encouragement for You
If you’re thinking about starting something new—whether it’s a blog, a business, or a new chapter in life—I want to encourage you to take the first step. You don’t have to have it all figured out. Trust God to guide you, and be willing to learn along the way.
Philippians 4:13 reminds us, "I can do all this through Him who gives me strength." Whatever God is calling you to do, He will equip you for it. You are not alone. He is with you every step of the way.
Conclusion
Starting this blog was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. It’s been a journey of growth, faith, and discovery. I’ve learned to trust God more deeply, to embrace my purpose, and to use my gifts to serve others.
If you’re feeling tired or stuck, I encourage you to turn to God. Pray, read His Word, and ask Him to show you your purpose. As Proverbs 16:3 says, "Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and He will establish your plans." When you put your trust in Him, He will lead you to a life of meaning and joy.
