China Eats Dogs: Exposing Animal Cruelty and Idolatry in a Nation Lost

In a world where kindness and mercy should rule, darkness still creeps into many corners. One of the most heartbreaking evils today is the ongoing slaughter of dogs and cats for food in certain parts of the world, including areas in China. These animals, created by God to be companions, are stolen, tortured, and killed in ways that defy human decency. This is not just a cultural issue—it is a moral and spiritual crisis.

God Created Animals to Be Cared For, Not Eaten Cruelly

In the book of Genesis, God gave humans dominion over animals—not to abuse them—but to protect, care, and live in harmony with them.

“The righteous care for the needs of their animals, but the kindest acts of the wicked are cruel.” — Proverbs 12:10

This verse makes it clear: cruelty to animals is a sign of a wicked heart. There is nothing righteous about torturing a dog or cat, boiling them alive, or skinning them for so-called "tradition" or taste. These are acts of violence, not culture. No tradition has the right to destroy innocent lives.

Some may defend these actions as part of their heritage, but tradition does not make something right. Slavery was once a tradition too. So was child sacrifice. Yet when we know better, we are called to do better.

The Dog and Cat Meat Trade Is an Abomination

The global community has seen the horrific images and videos—dogs stuffed in cages, beaten with metal pipes, cats screaming as they're boiled alive. These are not isolated incidents. These are systems built on blood and terror.

This is not about what animal is okay to eat. This is about the evil behind the method, the torture, the theft of pets from families, and the coldness of a human heart that watches suffering and calls it "food."

This is not only an abuse of animals but a reflection of deep spiritual darkness.

Spiritual Idolatry Opens the Door to Evil

In many of these places, people bow down to false gods, idols made by man—dragons, ancestral spirits, stone statues, and carved images. The Bible is very clear: worshiping anything other than the one true God leads to a corrupted mind and hardened heart.

“They exchanged the truth about God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator—who is forever praised.” — Romans 1:25

“They have mouths, but cannot speak, eyes, but cannot see... Those who make them will be like them, and so will all who trust in them.” — Psalm 115:5-8

Idolatry leads people away from God's heart. And when a nation worships idols, demons dwell there. The land becomes a playground for the enemy—for cruelty, corruption, and destruction. The devil feeds off fear, suffering, and death. It is no surprise that where idols rise, mercy falls.

False gods cannot bring peace, love, or eternal life. They bring deception, control, and spiritual blindness.

A Call to Repentance and Justice

This is not about hating a people—it is about hating the sin that enslaves them. Just as we call out murder, abuse, and slavery, we must call out animal torture for what it is: evil. We do not stay silent. We do not excuse it in the name of "culture."

Jesus drove out demons. He overturned the tables of those who made God’s house into a den of thieves. He did not sit quietly while wickedness flourished.

“Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them.” — Ephesians 5:11

We must be a voice for the voiceless. Dogs and cats cannot speak for themselves, but we can speak for them. We can pray, petition, expose, and act. We must call governments to ban these brutal practices, support animal rescue missions, and spread the truth—without fear.

God Will Judge All Cruelty

Let us be clear: every act of cruelty is seen by God. No blood spilled in the darkness will be hidden forever. Whether human or animal, every innocent life cries out to heaven.

“For the Lord is a God of justice. Blessed are all who wait for Him!” — Isaiah 30:18

Those who kill without mercy, steal what is not theirs, and laugh at pain will face the Judge of all creation. But God is also merciful to the repentant. If any person turns from their sin and false gods, and cries out to Jesus, they can be saved—even the most wicked among us.

We do not seek revenge. We seek repentance, justice, and an end to this evil.

What Can We Do?

  1. Pray – Ask God to expose evil, protect the innocent, and bring justice.

  2. Speak Out – Share the truth about the dog and cat meat trade.

  3. Support Rescues – Give to organizations rescuing animals from slaughter.

  4. Educate Others – Teach children and adults about God’s view on animal care.

  5. Stand Firm – Don’t let fear of offending others silence your voice.

Final Words

The world is full of brokenness. But we are called to be light. The darkness of dog and cat cruelty in China and other parts of the world is not okay. It must end. And it starts with truth, courage, and a heart that fears the Lord.

Let us be bold, not hateful. Firm, not cruel. Strong, not silent.

God will not be mocked. What we sow, we will reap.

“The Lord is known by His acts of justice; the wicked are ensnared by the work of their hands.” — Psalm 9:16

May we stand on the side of righteousness. Not just for ourselves, but for all of God’s creation.
