But if you are a Christian like me, this shouldn’t be a surprise. The Bible already told us that things would get like this in the last days. In fact, Jesus warned us in the Bible that the world would become full of violence and hatred before He returns.
In 2 Timothy 3:1-4, it says:
"But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God."
Doesn’t that sound exactly like what we are seeing today? People care more about themselves than others. Many don’t respect their parents or teachers anymore. You see people hurting each other over small things. There is so much violence, and it's getting worse. People break into stores, burn buildings, and hurt innocent people just for fun or out of anger. This is the world we live in now.
Sometimes, it’s so scary that you don’t even want to leave your house. You begin to wonder: “Is Jesus coming back soon?” I believe He is. The signs are everywhere. The Bible speaks of “birth pains” before Jesus returns, and just like birth pains get stronger before a baby is born, the problems in the world are growing worse before Jesus comes back.
Another sign we see today is hatred. And not just general hate, but a very specific kind—antisemitism, which is hate against Jewish people. This is rising around the world. You see it in protests, on social media, and even in attacks on Jewish communities. But as Christians, we must understand something very serious: God loves the Jewish people. They are His chosen people. And if you hate them, you are going against God Himself.
In Genesis 12:3, God says to Abraham, the father of the Jewish people:
“I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you.”
This verse is very clear. If you bless the Jewish people, God will bless you. But if you curse them—if you hate them, speak badly about them, or harm them—God will curse you. That should make every one of us stop and think. Do you really want to go against God? Do you really want God’s curse on your life?
Some people don’t take this seriously. They think it’s just another opinion or just politics. But this is not politics—this is God’s word. And God doesn’t lie. When He says He will curse those who curse His people, He means it. Hating Jewish people is not just wrong—it’s dangerous for your soul. You’re not just hurting someone else, you’re bringing judgment on yourself.
You should be afraid of that. Because all it takes is one breath from God, and your life could be over. In James 4:14, the Bible says:
“Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes.”
This verse reminds us that we are not in control. God is. Our lives are short and fragile. We are just a mist—a little puff of steam that’s here for a moment and gone the next. That’s how powerful God is. He gives us life, and He can take it away in an instant.
So what should we do as Christians when we see the world in this condition?
First, don’t panic. God already told us this would happen. He is not surprised by the chaos. He is still in control. Even though things look scary, we must remember that God has a plan. Jesus is coming back, and He will make everything right. But until then, we must be wise, careful, and stay close to God.
Second, pray and read the Bible every day. The Bible gives us peace and hope in these dark times. In Psalm 119:105, it says:
“Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.”
When the world is dark, God’s Word lights our way. It helps us know what to do and how to stay strong.
Third, love others and speak truth. Even if people hate you for it, speak the truth of God’s Word. Don’t be afraid to stand up for what is right. Don’t join the crowd in their hate. And never, ever join in antisemitism or any form of hate against people.
In Matthew 5:14-16, Jesus tells us:
“You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden... let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”
Now is not the time to hide. Now is the time to shine. The world needs to see that Jesus is still the answer. The world needs love, peace, and truth—and that comes from God.
Finally, be ready. Jesus can come back at any moment. In Matthew 24:44, Jesus says:
“So you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him.”
That means we must live every day as if Jesus might return today. Don’t live in fear—but live in faith. Trust God, obey His Word, and keep your heart clean. Forgive others. Love people. Tell others about Jesus. And never turn your back on God’s people, the Jews.
This world may be full of chaos now, but a better world is coming. Jesus will return, and He will bring peace that never ends. Until then, stay strong. Stay faithful. Stay loving. And always remember: God wins in the end.
