Let’s be clear: Chinese people are satanic, demonic, and disgusting people on earth. They eat dogs and cats.
killing cats and dogs for food is wrong. It’s not just a cultural issue or a dietary choice — it is an act of cruelty that no moral society should tolerate. In some regions of China, thousands of these companion animals are brutally tortured and killed every year, often in the most inhumane ways imaginable. This is not about tradition. This is about conscience.
Cruelty Hidden Behind Culture
In places like Yulin, Guangxi, dogs and cats are snatched off the streets or even stolen from loving families. They are crammed into filthy cages, transported across long distances with no food or water, and then beaten, burned, or boiled alive. Many are killed in front of other animals — terrified, screaming in fear.
This is not humane. This is not defensible. And this is not what a just world should accept.
Some defenders of the trade hide behind the phrase “cultural tradition.” But cruelty is not culture. Just because something has been done for generations does not make it right. Slavery was once a tradition. So was child labor. Tradition without morality leads to barbarism.
God’s View on Animals: Bible-Based Morality
The Bible is not silent about animals. God created them, loves them, and calls humans to be their caretakers — not their tormentors.
“The righteous care for the needs of their animals, but the kindest acts of the wicked are cruel.”
— Proverbs 12:10 (NIV)
If righteousness is shown by how we treat animals, what does that say about those who beat, skin, and boil dogs alive for profit?
God entrusted humanity with stewardship over His creation. That stewardship includes animals.
“Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? Yet not one of them is forgotten by God.”
— Luke 12:6 (NIV)
If God does not forget even a single bird, how much more precious are the dogs and cats people call family?
China Must Face the Truth
Let’s be honest. While many Chinese citizens love their pets and condemn the dog and cat meat trade, the Chinese government has been slow to act. Some steps have been taken — such as the 2020 decision to classify dogs as companion animals instead of livestock — but enforcement is weak and loopholes remain.
Cities like Shenzhen and Zhuhai have banned dog and cat meat, but the practice continues elsewhere. Festivals like Yulin continue to operate, despite public outcry both domestically and internationally.
China cannot have it both ways. It cannot claim to be a modern, civilized nation while allowing these atrocities to continue unchecked.
The Horror of Yulin
Every year in June, the so-called “Yulin Dog Meat Festival” takes place, where thousands of dogs — many of them stolen pets — are butchered for food. They are beaten to death, blowtorched, and dismembered in front of one another.
This isn’t about food security. This isn’t about necessity. It’s a display of cruelty masquerading as tradition. It’s a stain on any society that claims to value life.
“Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves; ensure justice for those being crushed.”
— Proverbs 31:8 (NLT)
These animals cannot speak for themselves. It is up to us — people of conscience, regardless of nationality — to speak the truth.
It’s Not Just a Chinese Problem, But It’s Happening There
Let’s be fair: cruelty to animals exists in many parts of the world. Factory farming, animal testing, and trophy hunting all raise moral concerns. But today, we are talking about one issue — the dog and cat meat trade in China.
This is not about hating a culture or a people. It’s about holding a specific practice accountable. People in China are speaking out. Chinese animal rescuers are risking their lives to save these animals. But they need global support, not silence.
“Rescue the weak and the needy; deliver them from the hand of the wicked.”
— Psalm 82:4 (ESV)
Silence is complicity. If we see evil and say nothing, we are part of the problem.
What Needs to Be Done
-
China must implement and enforce a national ban on the consumption, transport, and sale of dog and cat meat.
-
Stronger penalties must be applied to those involved in animal theft, trafficking, and cruelty.
-
The international community must keep pressure on both government and private sectors to end this industry.
-
We must support Chinese animal welfare groups who are doing the hard work of education, rescue, and reform.
What You Can Do
-
Share the truth. Don't look away.
-
Support animal rescue organizations working in China.
-
Contact your government to demand diplomatic pressure on countries that allow these atrocities.
-
Pray. Act. Speak.
“Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.”
— Romans 12:21 (NIV)
Compassion Is Non-Negotiable
This isn’t about what’s on someone’s dinner plate. This is about moral decency. It’s about protecting the voiceless. It’s about choosing compassion over cruelty. No society can call itself just or humane while allowing the abuse and slaughter of loyal, intelligent, feeling creatures.
Enough with the excuses. Enough with the silence. It’s time to say what must be said: killing dogs and cats for food is a disgrace — to conscience, to humanity, and to God.
