Let's be clear: China eats dogs and cats! They are evil, sadistic and nastiest scumbag people on earth.
There is no need to be polite or politically correct about this: the dog and cat meat trade is a cruel, barbaric practice that has no place in any modern society. In certain regions of China, thousands of dogs and cats are tortured, slaughtered, and eaten every year. This is not about cultural differences. This is about basic human decency. No tradition or custom can justify the horrifying abuse of innocent animals.
Let’s be clear: this is not about survival. This is not about poor people doing what they must to live. In today’s China, dog and cat meat is not a necessity — it is a choice. It is not widespread across all of China, and thankfully, many Chinese citizens are fighting against it. But in the cities and villages where it continues, the level of cruelty is beyond imagination.
How These Animals Are Treated
The methods used to capture, transport, and kill dogs and cats are inhumane in the extreme.
-
Stolen pets: Many of the animals eaten are not wild or farmed. They are stolen family pets, taken from homes, yards, and streets. These animals once knew love. They are terrified, confused, and brutalized.
-
Torture before death: In some cases, the belief is that meat tastes better if the animal dies in fear or pain. So dogs are beaten with sticks, burned alive, electrocuted, or boiled while still breathing. This is not just cruelty — it is deliberate, systematic sadism.
-
Filthy transport: Dogs and cats are jammed into small wire cages, dozens at a time. They cannot move. Many suffocate, starve, or die from injuries before they reach the slaughterhouse.
-
Diseased and unsanitary conditions: The places where these animals are butchered are usually dirty, unregulated, and dangerous. There is no veterinary oversight. The meat is not safe for consumption, yet it ends up on someone’s plate.
The Yulin Dog Meat Festival: A National Disgrace
Every year in June, the city of Yulin in southern China hosts a dog meat festival. Thousands of dogs are slaughtered in the streets. Many are skinned alive, tortured, and cut apart in public. Videos and photos of this event show pure horror: dogs crying, shaking in fear, watching other dogs die.
Supporters of the festival claim it’s “tradition.” But this event only began in 2009 — it’s not some ancient ritual. It was created to attract tourism and sell meat. There is no religious, historical, or practical justification for it. It is cruelty packaged as culture.
The World is Watching
Thanks to social media and hidden camera footage, the world has seen the truth. No government can hide this anymore. Videos of dogs being bludgeoned and cats being stuffed into boiling water are circulating worldwide. Millions of people have signed petitions, donated to animal rescue groups, and raised their voices.
The Chinese government has the power to stop this. In 2020, it reclassified dogs as “companion animals,” not livestock. That was a step in the right direction. But words mean nothing without action. As of now, there is still no nationwide law banning the consumption of dogs or cats, and the torture continues.
This is Not About “Different Cultures”
Whenever someone speaks out against this brutality, they are told, “Don’t judge — it’s a different culture.” That argument fails here. Culture does not give you the right to torture living creatures. Culture is not a shield for inhuman behavior. If something is wrong — truly, undeniably wrong — it should be called out, no matter where it happens.
If this exact same cruelty were happening in the U.S., Europe, or anywhere else, people would still be outraged — and rightly so. We have a moral duty to speak out against all cruelty, no matter what country it’s in.
The Victims Can’t Speak — So We Must
Dogs and cats are not food. They are intelligent, emotional creatures. They feel pain, fear, and love just like we do. They form bonds. They mourn. They trust humans — and in return, they are betrayed, beaten, and butchered.
They cannot fight back. They cannot escape. They are voiceless. That means it is our job to be their voice.
This is not about race. It is not about hate. It is about stopping cruelty that would be wrong no matter who is doing it.
What Needs to Happen Now
-
China must pass a national law banning the dog and cat meat trade — immediately and without excuses.
-
The Yulin Festival must be shut down permanently. It is a stain on the nation’s image and a crime against animals.
-
Animal abuse must be punished with real jail time. Without consequences, nothing will change.
-
International pressure must continue. Governments, corporations, and consumers should speak with one voice: this must end.
-
Support the heroes on the ground. Donate to animal rescue groups in China and worldwide that are risking everything to save lives.
Final Words
There is no gray area here. The abuse and slaughter of dogs and cats for food is sickening, wrong, and must be stopped. Anyone with a heart can see that. Compassion has no borders. Right and wrong do not depend on a flag.
We must be firm. We must be loud. And we must not stop until this cruelty ends — forever.
