The World Has Lost Its Way: Too Much Woke Thinking and DEI Confusion

The world is going crazy! Something feels off. I've seen it and so does many people sense it. I turn on the TV, scroll on my phones, or read the news, and it’s clear: the world isn’t what it used to be. Values that once held us together are being pushed aside. Instead, we now see a strong focus on being "woke" and following DEI (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion) ideas, sometimes without common sense.

The word “woke” originally meant being aware of injustice or inequality. That can be a good thing when used to help people treat others fairly. But now, being “woke” often means going too far. People are expected to accept things that don’t make sense. If someone disagrees, they are labeled as hateful or backward. That’s not how real conversations should work. Everyone should have the right to speak their mind without fear of being “canceled.”

DEI also started with good intentions — wanting fairness and opportunity for all. But now, it feels like people are judged more by their skin color, gender, or identity than by their character, talent, or effort. Hiring someone just because they check a box, not because they earned it, is unfair to everyone. It also hurts businesses and schools because the best people may not be chosen.

This way of thinking is confusing people. I’ve seen it myself. People behave strangely — like they’re living in a pretend world, not reality. They say things that sound nice but don’t match their actions. Morals are twisted. What used to be considered wrong is now celebrated.

Take the way people dress, for example. Modesty and respect used to matter. Now, it’s common to see people wear clothes that would’ve been shocking years ago — even at weddings. Brides wearing what looks like a nightgown, guests dressed like they’re going to a nightclub. What happened to dignity? What happened to respecting yourself and others?

The truth is, many people are turning away from God and His teachings. That’s the root of the problem. We have forgotten that right and wrong aren’t made up by social media trends or activist groups. They come from a higher place. When a society loses its moral compass, it falls into confusion and chaos — and that’s where we’re headed.

Of course, it’s good to treat others kindly. No one is saying we should be hateful or unfair. But love and truth go together. You can care about people and still speak the truth. Right now, our culture is afraid of truth — especially when it goes against popular ideas.

It’s sad to see. Our country needs to wake up — not be "woke." We need to return to common sense, to traditional values, and most importantly, to God. Only then can we start fixing what’s broken.
